It is absolutely amazing that Métis Crossing is being listed as one of the best places to visit – not in only Alberta or in Canada… but in the world!

As the top Indigenous Tourism attraction in the Go East of Edmonton region, Métis Crossing has grown to into a world class experience showcasing Métis culture and history. The contributions of the Métis People in our region are abundant and Métis Crossing seeks to showcase and engage with visitors in this distinct Indigenous story.

This is a tribute to the success of all the team members, partners, and supporters of Métis Crossing. It’s Alberta’s first cultural destination where Métis people lead the conception, design and operation.

We are very proud to have Métis Crossing featured in these publications:

  1. Afar – The Best Indigenous-Owned Hotels in Canada

In addition, there have been articles in other major media including: Toronto Star, Newswire, Conde Nast Traveller, MSN.com and many more!

This 512-acre site is situated on Métis settler homesteads overlooking the banks of the scenic North Saskatchewan River. Opened in 2005, there has been considerable care and development of the historic site, buildings, and trails, interpretive and hands-on learning experiences as well as a campground with trapper’s tents. It’s a special place for visitors to be immersed into Métis culture. These experiences provide a safe space for encouraging cultural understanding and connections.

In 2021, we welcomed the opening of the Métis Crossing Cultural Gathering Centre.  The beautiful 40-room Lodge at Métis Crossing opened in January 2022, and they continue to offer Signature Experiences to make your stay even more wonderful.

This is a very special rural Alberta attraction which has garnered major accolades from both major Canadian and International media and we are fortunate to have such an outstanding attraction here in our Go East of Edmonton tourism region for you to explore and experience.
