Elk Island National Park Family Day Event

Come out to Elk Island National Park for Family Day!

Bring the whole family to Elk Island National Park and enjoy all things winter this Family Day long weekend! Enjoy free snowshoe rentals (first come-first serve), live fiddle music or gather around the fire and learn all about how wildlife adapts to cold winter conditions. The Astotin Theatre will be open and the Friends of Elk Island society will be selling hot beverages and treats.

Remember to pack adequate winter gear to spend the day outside and skates to take advantage of the skating loop or hockey rink.

* Thin ice may exist anywhere on water bodies, at any time, in the winter season. Assess all ice before using it and never go onto ice alone. Do not skate on snow-covered ice or at night. The Canadian Red Cross recommends an ice thickness of at least 15 cm for walking and skating safely; the thicker the ice, the better.
