Strathcona Wilderness Centre Fall Open House

Explore the great outdoors, sample programs and enjoy family friendly activities at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre Fall Open House.

Activities include:

* Geocaching from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. – registration required
* Volksmarch walking event (5km or 11 km) from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – registration required
* Tie dying – 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. – registration required
* Fire Up Wildlife Tracks from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. – registration required
* Track Attack program sampler from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – registration required
* Interpretive walk from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. – registration required
* Fire Up Animal Track Casts from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. – drop-in, space limited
* Tie dying from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. – drop-in, space limited
* Bookmobile and Storytelling with Mary Ann Lippiatt from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. – drop-in, space limites
* Performances by the Borch Brothers at 12:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.
* Disc golf – drop-in
* Self guided scavenger hunt – drop-in
* Trail walking – drop-in

We will be accepting donations for the Strathcona Food Bank and Strathcona County’s Everybody Gets to Play program.

Remember: all activities are outdoors, please dress for the weather. We recommend bringing a lawn chair, your own beverages and snacks, and a smart phone to participate in the digital scavenger hunt or to register for activities onsite during the event.

This event has been created to follow all Alberta Health Services guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Stay home if you are sick or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. Wash your hands before and after attending the event. Maintain a physical distance of 2 meters (6 feet) from anyone outside of your household or cohort at all times. Masks are required for individuals 10 years of age and older when indoors, including using the washrooms available.

Please leave your pets at home, dogs are not permitted at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre.
