Why Go? The Elk Island Golf Course is one of the oldest courses in northern Alberta. Established in 1936, this is a nine-hole course cut into the moraine of the Beaver Hills and Cooking Lake Region. This area was declared a UNESCO Biosphere on March 21, 2016.
If you don’t have your own clubs, don’t let that keep you away. Elk Island Golf Course offers club & cart rentals. All you need to do is show up. Also need to book a space for a tournament or corporate retreat? The clubhouse is available to rent.
Check out their Facebook for promotions and information for the current season.
What’s Unique? In addition to an enjoyable round of golf, you can relax in the licensed and air-conditioned Bison Bar Café – the only meal service in Elk Island National Park. Come around to sample the bison menu on the weekends.
