You will want to make your first stop the Vegreville Information Centre located at the Pysanka Park just off Hwy 16A Vegreville. Pick up your souvenirs, snacks and beverages and let the friendly staff help you plan your visit.

Get ready for a totally egg-citing time at Pysanka Putt-Putt, the coolest 9-hole mini golf spot located right inside Pysanka Park! Whether you’re looking for a fun day out with friends and family, or a spot for your private event, Pysanka Putt-Putt has got you covered. So, what are you waiting for? Grab your putter and come join the fun!
World’s Largest Pysanka
Also located at the Pysanka Park is the World’s Largest Pysanka (Ukrainian Easter Egg). Pose like you are picking up the Pysanka and post it with #PickUpThePysanka. More than just a great selfie stop, there’s a full day of family fun activities here.
Borrow-A-Bike
The Visitor Information Centre has five bikes that are free to use and that are meant to make it easier for you to explore Vegreville. Bikes are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Borrow-A-Boat
Paddle under the Pysanka as you enjoy a leisurely ride around the Elks Pond. Stop in at the Visitor Information Centre to take advantage of Vegreville’s latest FREE attraction. Propelled by human power, you control the speed and fun on the water.
2. Shop Vegreville
Historic Downtown Vegreville
Stroll through historic downtown Vegreville to find a selection of unique gifts, souvenirs, and local delicacies while taking in the stunning murals and interesting historical sidewalk plaques. Visit Vegtel Engraving for unique gifts, souvenirs, jewelry and more. Next door, Vegreville Natural Health Centre features genuine herbs, grains, and supplements to help you live a natural and healthy lifestyle. Find authentic handmade Ukrainian ceramics, tablecloths, wooden ornaments, and icons at the Ceramic Cottage. Don’t miss Ziegler Fashions & The Quilt Rack where you can find a large variety of quilting fabrics and supplies. For a large selection of Hallmark gifts, locally made products, souvenirs, and travel needs, shop at Vegreville Drug Mart. For tasty local food, visit Prime Cuts Meat & Deli, home to beloved Vegreville Garlic Sausage. They also carry a great selection of specialty Ukrainian items including perogies and cabbage rolls.
East Vegreville
On the east side of town, stock up on your groceries or replenish supplies for your road trip at Adam’s No Frills. They have you covered with value pricing that’s simply hard to beat.
West Vegreville
On the west side of town, Envy Boutique carries a beautiful selection of women’s clothing and accessories. Stop in so you can be looking and feeling your best! For a great selection of wine, local craft beer and specialty spirits, visit Liquor Den.
3. Play in the Parks, Trails & More
Vegreville has so many wonderful parks and playgrounds to explore. From the Pysanka Park, home to the World Famous Pysanka, to the Vegreville Lions Community Spray Park and more.
Vegreville’s trail system is one of their best-kept secrets, they wind their way through some of Vegreville’s most beautiful areas.
Enjoy birdwatching and fishing at the Vegreville Trout Pond, located just south of town along Highway 16. It’s a popular spot for rainbow trout stocked annually by Alberta Fish and Wildlife.
4. Check out the Vegreville Farmers Markets
Shop for a great selection of locally grown and crafted products, at two Farmers’ Markets: the Vegreville Farmers’ Market – Fridays, April to December at the Elk’s Hall 5002 – 55 Ave, 8:30-11:30 am, and Pysanka Park Market – Thursdays, June 17 – September 9 from
5-8 pm at the Pysanka Park.
5. Golf Vegreville
Swing your clubs at the Vegreville Kinsmen Golf Club and watch out for the water hazards…there’s a few of them.
6. Explore History
Nearby along Highway 16, Our Lady of the Highway Shrine is beautifully sculpted from Italian white marble. It’s the only one of its kind in Canada. Behind the monument, exquisitely marked stones display the Stations of the Cross in a tranquil park setting.

Enjoy Vegreville’s major events! In June the Dash to Summer Chuckwagon Races including an Open Horse Show, Chicken Races, Beer Gardens and more. Father’s Day weekend features a Show & Shine, Demo Derby, antique tractors and more. Enjoy the annual Vegreville Pysanka Festival in. Come August 7 -11, kick off five days of fun at the 120th Annual Vegreville Country Fair complete with midway, kid’s fun zone, petting zoo, grandstand entertainment, chuckwagons, and so much more! August 23 – 24! Vegreville Ag Society is happy to bring you the Vegreville Corn Maze for three weekends starting September 7 – 8.
9. Set up Camp
Plan your next camping trip in Vegreville. Camp next to the Pysanka Park at the Vegreville Municipal Campground with 65 sites, including powered RV sites and non-powered sites for tenting. The Vegreville Municipal Campground is located on Highway 16A.
