Welcome to the town of St. Paul, no matter where you are from you are welcome here! St. Paul has always been a “people kind of place”. St. Paul is located on Highway 29, 2 hours east of Edmonton. Welcoming visitors is the world’s first UFO landing pad. It was built as a 1967 Canadian Centennial project. Adjoining the pad is the Visitor Information Centre.

UFO Landing Pad

The world's first UFO landing pad! In 1967, a proposal was made to build the world's first UFO Landing Pad as a landmark for the town. The Government of Canada responded to this proposition and, during the grand opening on June 3 1967, St. Paul was declared the Centennial Capital of Canada.

Attractions & Events


History enthusiasts will enjoy touring Musée St. Paul, a museum which showcases the town’s origins as a Métis colony, the arrival of the homesteaders and the agricultural history of the area. Explore the historic Destrubé House – a building that was owned by some of the earliest settlers northeast of St. Paul. It definitely makes an interesting attraction as part of the museum.

One of Canada’s best and biggest little music Festivals returns to St. Paul every year. Centerfield Music Festival kicks off summer with some of music’s brightest stars in country and rock & roll. All happening at the historic Jaycee Ballpark. Another huge event that comes to town is the Lakeland Rodeo Finals - a great way to wrap up the summer!

Outdoors

Enjoy an 18 hole round of golf at the St. Paul Golf Course with a fully stocked pro-shop and full service Tin Cup Restaurant. Enjoy the Iron Horse Trail that runs through town and the staging area that boasts a 14 stall shelter for wagon and horse riders looking to make a stop in town. This is in addition to the fully serviced camping sites and the pond, where visitors can fish during summer long weekends and skate in the winter. The area has plenty of room for trailers to unload ATVs and snowmobiles.

You’ll find numerous businesses in St. Paul and a large variety of retail shopping and other services along Highway 29, with many new businesses at the west end of town. Twisted Fork offers locally inspired cuisine showcasing local farmers, local breweries & distilleries, and local producers. They feature a seasonal menu, themed dinners, and a different special each day. The cheesecakes are to die for! For some fresh produce, be sure to visit the impressive St. Paul Farmers’ Market held every Friday morning year round at the Centennial Senior’s Centre.

Located near St. Paul is the ultimate Pow Wow Station - St. Brides Trading Post specializing in a large supply of beads, drums, home tan and commercial hides, furs, natural products, pipes, jewellery, accessories and books.
