Camrose: UPU Poetry & Performance

Stories, Struggles, and Joys of Island Life Across the Vast Pacific Ocean

This is a co-presentation with the Chester Ronning Centre for the Study of Religion and Public Life, and the Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre.
This show is a PAY WHAT YOU WILL event.

A Journey Through The Heartbeat Of Pacific Poetry, UPU brings together poetry and performance in a way that stirs the soul. Featuring the words of 23 poets coming from a SOLD OUT season at the Sydney Opera House — from young visionaries to international activists and literary prize winners — this powerful theatrical experience captures the stories, struggles, and joys of island life across the vast Pacific Ocean. From the Cook Islands to Guam, from Maori identity to urgent pleas from the Marshall Islands, UPU blends evocative storytelling, stunning visuals, and a rich soundscape to create a deeply moving experience. Poetry is powerful on the page—but on stage, it’s pure magic.
