Elk Island Art Club: Where Passion and Creativity Meet
Why Go?
The Elk Island Art Club, with members from Strathcona County, Lamont County, and Fort Saskatchewan, is a small, close-knit community that began in Strathcona County in the 1950s. Members meet regularly in Josephburg to paint and discuss their finished pieces or works in progress. Artists of all skill levels, from beginner to expert, share advice and experience in various media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, fiber, pencil, ink, pastels, and reusables. They take great pleasure in sharing their artistic passion and creating a supportive and creative environment.
What’s Unique?
The Elk Island Art Club presents an annual art show at their location in Josephburg. The 2024 theme was “Weather and All Its Aspects.” For the Fall 2025 special exhibit, members enjoyed sharing their creative ideas of the variety of ways to present the same subject. Their diverse talents and fresh perspectives resulted in this unique exhibit. In addition to the thirty piece special exhibit, there is a wide variety of art and sculpture in all shapes, sizes and textures available for purchase.Upcoming Event: Visions of the Same: Elk Island Art Club Annual Art Show & Sale
