Why Go?
The Art Society of Strathcona County is a Volunteer Organization that allows local artists to flourish and enjoy friendships with others in a creative and inclusive environment. ASSC offers many exciting art shows that allow artists to showcase their creations year round. These include the Spring Show, Fall Show, Christmas Marketplace, Student Show, and an Artist Home Studio Tour. The Artist Home Studio Tour is a self-guided tour of artist home studios, and is free to the public! Visit the home studios of many local artists and gain a glimpse into their inspiration and creative process. You will be able to see their full collection of works, and purchase works of art. Some studio spaces spill out into the garden at this event, making it an experience you wouldn’t want to miss.What’s Unique?
Workshops are offered online or in-person with a range of classes from drawing to painting, and sculpture taught by talented artists and professionals. Classes are held at the A.J. Ottewell Community Centre in Sherwood Park. Whether you are a beginner wanting to learn and find your style or an experienced artist ready to take your skills to the next level with new techniques, you will be sure to find the right class for you.
