The Ultimate Shopping Experience!
Craft shows have been a cherished tradition in Bonnyville since the 1970s when Mrs. Staples organized the first event in a Seniors Hall, featuring 20 vendors and 50 attendees. The show quickly grew and moved to the Bonnyville Agriplex to accommodate the rising interest in handmade crafts. In November 1990, after Mrs. Staples’ departure, Evelyn Bordeleau, Twila Campeau, and Pat Berlinguette resumed the event, establishing it as an annual Christmas tradition with 45 to 50 crafters and 150 to 200 shoppers. Admission was free, with donations going to the Christmas Food Hamper Project.
In 2008, the show relocated to the Bonnyville Centennial Centre Fieldhouse, increasing its capacity to around 75 vendors and attracting 275 to 300 shoppers by 2024. At the same time, Pat launched a Craft Show at the Cold Lake Agriplex in 2010, which moved to the Energy Centre and grew from 30 vendors to 93 by 2024, drawing about 400 attendees and including antique and home-based businesses.
These craft shows highlight local creativity and community spirit, offering a chance to meet artisans, find unique gifts, and enjoy a festive atmosphere.
