Description
Join us for an immersive game-changing learning tour that blends the best of collaboration with agritourism, culinary exploration and the thriving rural art scene at a local award-winning pottery studio. This tour offers a unique chance to connect with local operators, enjoy hands-on learning, and gain insight into creating memorable visitor experiences.
Participants will embark on a journey to the original founders of the Country Soul Stroll in Sturgeon County, to be inspired in a day-long learning experience with thriving rural women entrepreneurs, actively engaged in rural tourism. You’ll immerse yourselves into their stories – where thrivability meets complexity, gaining game-changing insights as you build a grass-root network and learn together.
First, drop in for a studio tour at Pottery by Heather – in Bon Accord. Founded by owner-operator, Heather Edwards. She’ll share her story of success in collaborating with many artists for over 25 years, with the Work of Our Hands Studio Show and Sale – which has taken place twice annually since 2010. The adventure continues with a visit Reveresque Winery, a brand new Haskap and Tart Cherry Winery at the junction of HWY 28 and Lily Lake Road in Sturgeon County, and then to Prairie Gardens on Lily Lake Road, Sturgeon County, with a well-known agri-tourism pioneer, Tam Andersen. Her agritourism and horticultural operation is in its 68th year of operation as a culinary farm gem, known for growing fruit trees, its own fresh, local strawberries, produce and pumpkins, offering on-farm pumpkin festivals, and award-winning farm-to-table culinary experiences.
You’ll enjoy an immersive farm-to-table lunch with music and hands-on activities. Settle into the afternoon – getting the latest tips from esteemed speakers on tourism marketing from Explore Edmonton, Go East of Edmonton, Strong Coffee Marketing, and agri-tourism consultants, Pierre and Keleigh Cormier, as they share their learnings and photos from traveling to the Global Agri-tourism Network conferences in Italy and Scotland – in the day-long mini conference.
