Battle River Train – Take the scenic route and spend the day on the train. Enjoy the entertainment, food, and ambiance of an antique train as you tour through rural Alberta. All of August

Big Valley Jamboree – This year, Big Valley is pulling out all the stops. Come out to Camrose for a full weekend of good music, great times, with acts like Keith Urban, Terri Clark and many more! Aug 1 – 4

Cold Lake Aqua Days – Come for the live stage entertainment, vendor market, free water sport rentals, children’s activities, fireworks…Stay for the infamous Cardboard Boat Races! Aug 3

Metis Crossing Special Performance – Cynthia Hamar Band and special guest Brianna Lizotte. Enjoy an unforgettable evening of music and culture from 7-11 pm. Aug 4
Mallaig Haying in the 30’s –  Enjoy this incredible fundraising event complete with pioneer demonstrations, kid’s games, village tours, face painting and more! Aug 3-4

Smoky Lake Stampede – Expect a full weekend of rodeo events, good food and family fun! Aug 3 – 4


Lac La Biche Summer Days – Come out for a fun-filled weekend with a midway, parade, fish fry, kids fish derby, ball tournament and more! August 2 – 5

Vegreville Country Fair  – Soak up the five days of fun, especially when your gate admission gets you free entertainment!  Aug 7 – 11

Tofield Western Days – Four days of pure rodeo fun! Aug 8 – 11


Boyle Wildberry Festival  – Start your weekend off on a musical note at the Jam Session. Enjoy the pancake breakfast, parade and festival with a kid’s carnival, food trucks and more! Aug 9 – 10

Ride to Reynolds  –  See an amazing one day display of Motorcycles at the Reynolds Alberta Museum. Aug 10

Ranfurly Fair –  Enjoy a Parade, bench show, children’s games, horse show and much more! Aug 11

Gran Fondo – Register to ride, sign up to volunteer, or come line the edge of the raceway and cheer on participants as they take place in the Great Canadian Gran Fondo, the largest cycling event in the prairies, only in Sherwood Park and Strathcona County this August 11.
There are three courses to choose from that take you from within Sherwood Park out to the heart of Strathcona County. Choose from cycling either 50, 96, or 133 kilometres while you enjoy the natural beauty of the Beaver Hills Biosphere and the edge of Elk Island National Park.

Lougheed Fair –  With over 100 years of memories, this event is sure to entertain with sports, horse and cattle shows, and other fun activities! Aug 10

Clandonald Country Fair – It’ll be a full day with events like face painting, the watermelon Contest, pancake breakfast, demo from the fire department, and more! Aug 9 – 10

Lloydminster CPCA Finals – Feel the excitement as the CPCA’s best drivers and fastest horses race for the Championship! Don’t miss a minute with pancake breakfasts, family fun nights, the Chuckwagon Cabaret, and more. Aug 14 – 18

Vilna Boomtown Days – Fun at Boomtown starts with amenities like pancake breakfast, BBQ, lunch, beer gardens, kids’ activities, bench show, and more. Don’t miss the Boomtown Days Dance! Aug 16 – 17

Alberta Open Farm Days – Come meet your rural neighbours. Visit local farms and farmers markets to learn where your food comes from and enjoy unique culinary experiences. Aug 17 – 18

Strathcona County Roadside Stand Tour – Stop at designated driveways that will be hosting local vendors. From Vegetables and beef to crafts and artisans. Think of it as a farmers market style opportunity that instead of walking from one booth to the next you hop in your car and travel through the beautiful countryside making an occasional stop to purchase from and meet local vendors. Pick up a passport at your first stop and collect stamps at each stop to enter for great prizes. Aug 18

Sedgewick Gathering of the Clans Highland Festival – Take in the Heavy Events, Artisan Vendors, Dancers, Food Trucks, and more! Aug 24

Ukrainian Day – Immerse yourself in the Ukrainian Culture at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village. Aug 25

Flagstaff County Movie in the Park – Enjoy an evening of evening of fun and a movie under the stars. BBQ & activities will begin at 5:30 pm with this year’s movie, Migration, starting at approximately 8:30 pm. Aug. 20

Strathcona Vintage Tractor – Tractors are pretty powerful. Come and see for yourself just what a tractor can do! Shop the garage sale, enjoy the food trucks and wagon rides, and more!

St. Paul LRA Finals – With Pony Races, markets, a chili cookoff, Mutton Bustin’, and other fun performances and activities, Rodeo Week 2024 is going to be quite the spectacle!  Aug 29 – Sept 1
