CASTOR ATTRACTIONS
History anchors the experience. The Castor & District Museum preserves the stories of early settlers and prairie life, showcasing the old Railway station, a one room school house known as Beaver school, the Grain elevator historical site, All Saints Anglican Church, and the machine shed. Separate from the museum, Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital Historical Site stands as a tribute to generations of rural care and resilience, this historical hospital doubled as a convent and boarding school and was ran by nuns until the 1990s, and is still a part of the existing hospital. At the time of its construction, it was the only hospital between Red Deer, Alberta and Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, and was the biggest hospital outside of Edmonton and Calgary. The Pharmacy Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into early medical practice and small town ingenuity.

Outdoors
Flowing along the northeast side of town, Castor Creek winds past impressive sandstone cliffs, creating a scenic setting for kayaking, canoeing, and motor boating adventures.
Along its sandstone cliffs and coulee edges, the creek is brimming with wildlife, from deer and waterfowl to the quiet rustle of prairie life along the banks. It is a setting that feels both untamed and welcoming.
Visitors can play a round at the golf course, cool off in the outdoor swimming pool, or enjoy a relaxing stay at Cabin on the Coulee Farm.

Downtown, locally owned businesses add character and welcome. Eco Outdoors outfits hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. Chic to Hick blends prairie style with unique finds. The Purple Platypus invites readers to linger among its bookshelves. Castor Secondhand Plus welcomes thrifters on the search for unexpected treasures, while Castor Value Drug Mart continues a long tradition of community service.
These businesses proudly support this message, and they stand alongside many other local shops that make Castor vibrant year-round.
Adventure continues beyond town limits at Cabin on the Coulee Farm, set in the dramatic badlands coulee it overlooks. Guests can stay in a cozy cabin, a yurt beneath the prairie sky, or a charming bunkie tucked into the landscape — an ideal base for exploring both coulee trails and creek waters.
