French Mural Capital of Canada

The Town of Legal is known as the French Mural Capital of Canada. On November 21, 2011, the Town of Legal was also recognized as the French Mural Capital of the World per capita. There are over 35 murals proudly displayed around Legal, welcoming visitors to this bilingual community.

Admire over 35 Legal murals which are painted on the walls of buildings on almost every corner
in town. The murals portray the history, events and challenges of the francophone families, the
organizations, and the religious communities. Legal is the “French Mural Capital of Canada”,
and in fact it has the highest concentration of murals per capita in the world. The first mural
