Attractions & Events

Come admire the 37 Legal murals which are painted on the walls of buildings on almost every corner in town. The murals portray the history, events and challenges of the francophone families, the organizations and the religious communities. Legal is the “French Mural Capital of Canada”, and in fact it has the highest concentration of murals per capita in the world. The first mural was painted in 1998, with the last mural depicting Louis Riel and the Irish Immigration to Canada, was completed in 2013. There is a printable map of the murals on www.legal.ca. So bring your friends and family, you will not be disappointed. Remember to tag Town of Legal in your photos when you share your experience in the French Mural Capital of Canada. Legal residents are passionate about their community. If you love Legal as much as they do, venture over to Pepins Point to find your new home. Experience the French culture first hand at the Fete au Village and enjoy the many other events, tournaments and ceremonies held during the year for residents and visitors alike.

Outdoors

Smell the flowers while you browse the shops on Main Street, enjoy the local cuisine, or take in the wonders of the mural walk. You can breathe the fresh air when you visit Citadel Park, a 12 acre indoor/outdoor recreation area, complete with an arena, curling complex, ball diamonds, soccer fields, skateboard park, and barrier free walking trails. Stop by for a picnic or bring your RV for an overnight stay at Centennial Park. Drop a fishing line in the stocked trout pond while the children climb on the nearby play structures, or watch the sunset while you enjoy the company of your friends and family around a campfire. Legal is here for you to explore!
