The Town of Provost is situated 3 hours southeast of Edmonton and 20 km away from the Saskatchewan border town, Macklin. Provost is well known for its rich agricultural and energy sector background. While visiting, enjoy a variety of shops in the downtown area, as well as accommodations and businesses along Highway 13. Shop for local food at the Farmers Market on Fridays from 10-2pm in the summer.

Don’t miss the Kinsmen Splash and Smash - one of rural Alberta’s largest motorsport and mud racing events, and one of only three CMRO-sanctioned races in the province—taking place in June. You can also catch thrilling rodeo action nearby at the Cadogen Rodeo in May and the Czar Lake Bullarama in July.

Outdoors

Crescent Point Place Regional Activity Centre has many amenities for you to enjoy. Stay active at their facility with amenities like an indoor walking track, a junior Olympic pool, and a splash park located behind the pool! Be sure to check out the outdoor swimming pool on those hot summer days! Play a round at the popular Provost Golf Club. You can also have fun at the local playgrounds, try your hand at frisbee golf, or relax at their tranquil community butterfly garden. 

Provost is surrounded by numerous lakes and campgrounds, one of which is the hidden gem Dillberry Lake Provincial Park with over 13 km of trails and a beautiful sandy beach. Shorncliffe Lake Park at Czar is very popular for water-skiing and camping. Or, camp in town at Bannister Campground, located in the Sports Park, while the kids enjoy the nearby skateboard park.
