In a dazzling display of precision and aerial artistry, the renowned Frecce Tricolori, Italy’s elite aerobatic demonstration team, is set to take to the skies at the Cold Lake Air Show on July 20th and 21st, 2024. The Cold Lake Air Show, known for its breathtaking performances and showcasing some of the world’s most skilled aviators, eagerly anticipates the arrival of these masterful pilots from the Italian Air Force.

For over 60 years, the Frecce Tricolori, or “Tricolor Arrows,” have been celebrated globally for their mesmerizing aerial ballet, executed with a fleet of Aermacchi MB-339 PAN aircraft painted in the colours of the Italian flag. Their display over Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake promises an unforgettable spectacle as they weave intricate patterns and formations against the backdrop of a beautiful blue sky.

Known for their flawless synchronization and split-second precision, the Frecce Tricolori has become synonymous with excellence in aerobatic displays. Audiences can expect a thrilling performance that combines skill, speed, and a touch of Italian flair. The team’s signature maneuver features nine aircraft flying in close formation, trailing plumes of smoke in the green, white, and red hues of the Italian flag.

The inclusion of the Frecce Tricolori in 2024 adds an international touch to the event. Being able to see the team in Cold Lake is a rare treat, to say the least. This will be their only air show in western Canada for the 2024 season, and will mark their first North American dates in over 30 years!
