Muriel Lake M.D. Park Cross-Country Ski Trails
From gentle rolling knolls perfect for beginners, to steep exhilarating hills for experts, the trails at the M.D.’s Muriel Lake Park offer a wide variety of trails for all skill levels.
M.D. of Bonnyville Parks staff regularly groom and maintain 13 km of trail throughout the park each winter. Be sure to make your way to the lookout point – it’s one of the best views in the area! Check out the new Nordic Pulse app for up-to-date grooming information or visit md.bonnyville.ab.ca, or facebook.com/MDBonnyville.
The Bonnyville Nordic Ski Club (BNSC) began last season, with programs for both adults and youth. Members will enjoy group ski tours, community ski events, and discounts on ski rentals and lessons. They offer adult lessons as well as ski development programming for ages four to 18. The park is located 11 km south of the Town of Bonnyville on Range Road 452. You can now rent cross-country skis from the club, which includes boots, skis, and bindings!
Ditch the Skis for Snowshoes!
If snowshoeing is more your speed, stick to the groomed area beside the set cross-country tracks, and enjoy the beauty of the boreal forest blanketed in snow.
Need to warm up? Take the chill off in the warming shack. Skiers and snowshoers can get the code from the M.D. Parks office by calling 780-826-3972. There is a firepit with wood and kindling available. Just bring your own lighter.
