Hand Crafted, Sustainably Farmed Alberta Cottage Winery
Why Go? Barr Estate Winery is Strathcona County’s only Alberta Cottage Winery. Owned and operated by Rick and Amy Barr, Barr Estate Winery produces fruit wines from fruit grown organically right on the farm. The two staple wines are The Other Red (a raspberry wine) and The Barb (a rhubarb wine).
Wondering where to buy Barr Estate Winery products? You will find them for sale directly on location, or find them at one of the many great wine and spirit shops throughout Central Alberta including Little Guy Liquor Store in Sherwood Park and Smoky Lake Inn in Smoky Lake. What’s Unique? You can see the entire wine creation process in person at one of the guided winery tours hosted by Rick and Amy throughout the summer! Tours are offered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and include sampling of the wines. To reserve your spot on a tour call 780-819-9463.
Check out what these past tour attendees had to say about their experience:
“Loved the tour, Rick was very knowledgeable and you can really tell he and his wife love what they’re doing. I absolutely loved the wines and will definitely repurchase many times.
Happy to support a local business, especially if it means enjoying a great glass of wine for dinner.”
“Wonderful wines! Very interesting to learn about the process of wine making as well as the business aspects. Rick was very knowledgeable and personable. Can’t wait until they get their new blends ready to go. Happy to be able to buy locally!”
Please drink responsibly!
