Why Go? A family run greenhouse business with over 40 years growing experience. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff are there to assist you with all of your gardening needs. Whether planning a new yard or garden or just picking out your bedding plants, a visit to Hastings Lake Gardens is a must. Their greenhouses cover 16000 sq. feet and are located just 20 minutes east of South Edmonton and Sherwood Park. Open to the public for the month of May until usually the first week of June or whenever they sell out! All plants are treated for aphids and the staff harden them off, paying very close attention to each and every one. You will get the best quality for the best price.
There is a wonderful selection of annuals, herbs, vegetables and seeds and much more, however, their specialty would have to be in their hanging baskets, and they have over 800 varieties to choose from whether you prefer Supertunias, Million Bells, Fuschias or Geraniums or a mixed variety. You can take advantage of their tag & save program, where you pick the basket you want in early May and they tag it and hold it for you until the May long weekend when it is ready to go outside.
Just recently they renovated their gift shop and are now home to some incredible goods and gifts from some FABULOUS local vendors. You have to come check it out! Their gift shop is open from the start of the greenhouse season until the end of September, however their hours are reduced to mostly weekends during the summer. Please check their website for current hours of operation.
What’s Unique? In addition to the greenhouse, they are home to one of the most sought after wedding ceremony and photography locations, with two unique and completely different venues, the Gardens and Gazebo area (containing flowers grown in their own greenhouse) or the rustic Church area with a small chapel and a beautiful secluded natural setting. Viewings are welcome, but by appointment only, to not conflict with any events that may be happening at the time.
