The Viking Museum is located at the north end of Main Street in the town’s original 1922 hospital, showcasing the rich history of Viking and its Scandinavian roots. Just down the street, the Interpretive Centre is housed in the Annex of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church. Both are open daily from May to September, 10 AM to 5 PM. Admission is free, with donations welcome.
Step inside to explore pioneer artifacts, maps, photographs, and exhibits that tell Viking’s story from its farming beginnings to the 1947 oil boom. The grounds feature restored historic buildings, including a church, post office, school, and farmhouse, along with an extensive collection of tractors, farm equipment, clothing, and memorabilia.
