Only an hour from Edmonton, at Metis Crossing you’ll find authentic Indigenous experiences and cuisine, a gift shop, a cultural gathering centre, campground and  comfort camping trappers tents overlooking the North Saskatchewan River.

Indigenous Experience

Metis Crossing is a 512 acre site, comprised of five river lot titles that had been owned by Metis settlers in the late 1800s. It is the first and only major Metis Cultural Centre in Canada. So you can learn the rich history of the Metis, daily guided tours are now available for booking.

The Lodge at Métis Crossing

The Lodge at Métis Crossing is a special blend of comfort, culture and Métis history.

Directly adjacent to the Métis Crossing Cultural Gathering Centre, our 40-room boutique lodge offers scenic views overlooking the majestic North Saskatchewan river, the very route used by our Métis ancestors as they gathered at this very spot.

Métis Crossing offers our guests a truly unique, luxury experience that will connect visitors with the night’s sky and stars.  Sky Watching Domes offer a unique, luxury experience that will connect you with the night’s sky and stars. The domes include a transparent ceiling, running water, a bathroom, concrete heated floors, air conditioning, a kitchenette, and electricity.

Camping & Trapper's Tents

Métis Crossing is the perfect location for your next overnight adventure. Camping is available directly on-site, providing the perfect home base for in-between cultural experiences and activities. They also offer Trapper’s Tents which are situated with a view of the North Saskatchewan River. Offering elevated amenities and superior comfort, the Trapper’s Tents are the perfect way to unwind after a day exploring Métis Crossing.
