Fall Camping in Camrose

Trevor TessierCampgrounds & RV Parks, Camping, Camrose, Camrose County, Fall Adventures, Highway 13, Seasonal Campground, Southeast of Edmonton, Year-round Camping

It has been a sunny and warm first month of the fall season so far in Camrose County. What better way to make the most of the weather by planning a fall or Thanksgiving camping trip with the family? Many of Camrose’s campgrounds stay open into October, so you can take your pick from a variety of outdoor activities to help you decide where you spend the night.

No matter which campground you book for your Camrose trip you will be afforded beautiful fall views of mixed forests as they change colours. This creates exceptional backdrops for hiking and photo walks! A prominent experience to take advantage of includes the several campgrounds adjacent to golf courses: Double Dam, Silver Creek, and the Whistle Stop are all open for campers into October and take you to more rural sides of Camrose County.

You can even camp in Camrose at their city’s east end RV Park, which is open until the end of October. Other campgrounds around the County provide their own types of family fun with fishing, lakeside picnic sites, playgrounds, or a place to simply relax next to a fire.

Fall Camping in Camrose

Double Dam Golf Course & Campground

You can visit the Double Dam Golf Course any time of year to enjoy their all-day restaurant, but you may want to visit before October 17th to take advantage of their great deal. All campsites are 50% off for the remainder of the season and includes the power/water/sewer sites, a well as non-serviced (WiFi available at an extra cost). When you book your site, be sure to inquire about any upcoming live music or performances.

Camrose RV Park

You can camp right beside the city via the Camrose RV Park who are open all the way to Halloween weekend! Whichever local attractions bring you to Camrose will be convenient to access from the RV Park too, as it is locatong behind the intersection of Highways 13 and 26 (48th Avenue). The onsite amenities like showers, laundry, and washrooms, create a comfortable camping experience; and the small touches like picnic tables, firepits, and a playground will help make it more memorable (you can instantly share those memories with the campground’s WiFi).

Open until October 30

Silver Creek Golf & RV Resort

If you know your spring, summer, and fall will be filled with golf, or if that is your goal, you can consider seasonal camping reservations with one of Camrose County’s RV parks. Silver Creek offers these seasonal rates alongside a golf course that stretches through the farmland for 27 holes. However if you’re stopping by for a quick getaway or weekend trip, the RV Resort is an excellent off-the-highway stop with onsite dining, firepits, and gorgeous fall colours. Be sure to snap a quick photo of the picturesque driveway on your way in.

Open until mid-October

The colours are beautiful, the air is crisp and the best part…there campgrounds are OPEN! Enjoy the last days of camping weather!

Municipal Fall Camping

Along with the city of Camrose’s RV Park, the other surrounding municipalities host their own campgrounds, too. A few of them will be open until the snow falls and ground stays frozen (usually mid-October), and they are all located along some of the County’s main corridors. Some features to help with a cozy stay include camp kitchens, washrooms, firepits, firewood for sale, and the stocked trout pond in the Bawlf Jubilee Park (catch-and-release fishing only).

For Next Spring & Summer

Camrose County has even more to offer for local campgrounds; these sites are soon to close for the year, but are great campgrounds to keep in mind for next spring and summer. Keep in mind that camping reservations for Alberta Parks (including Miquelon Lake PP) open in late winter, and the spots fill up fast. Miquelon Lake PP is a popular beach and camping destination in eastern Alberta, with serviced sites, tent sites, and their new yurts.
