Vermilion Provincial Park

Go kayaking at the Vermilion Provincial Park! Or, enjoy the many trails including Wild Rose Trail, Cathedral Trail, Fescue Trail, and Lakeside Trail, you will hike to your heart’s content! There are also a number of trails for cross-country skiing and horseback riding. Five kilometers of the trails are paved paths for rollerblading and biking, and also accommodate guests in wheelchairs.

VERMILION Attractions & Events

Step back in time at the Vermilion Heritage Museum, located in a historic school with seven galleries and two display buildings.

The town is proud of its Vermilion Agricultural Fair, one of the oldest and largest traditional fairs in Western Canada held in July! More than 26,000 annual attendees at the fair events including a parade, midway, trade shows, animal judging, pony chuckwagons and chariot races, entertainment, and agricultural / horticultural displays. Popular livestock shows are light horse, beef, sheep, goat, poultry, and the heavy horse show. And the exciting antique and modified tractor pulls!

OUTDOORS

Go golfing at the Vermilion Golf Club located on the south side of Highway 16. Camp at the Vermilion Provincial Park, the town’s community treasure, which spans over nine miles (750 hectares) along the south shore of the Vermilion River Valley. The park is open year-round and boasts 23 km of hiking and biking trails, a spray park, mini-golf, soccer fields, a trout pond and playgrounds to enjoy. Once winter arrives, enjoy the Nordic skiing trails where Beckie Scott, Canadian Olympic gold medalist, trained.
