Located one hour 15 minutes east of Edmonton and one hour west of Lloydminster, Innisfree is perfect for a day-trip or weekend retreat. At over 100 years strong, Innisfree is a community-driven village rich with history and pride.

Innisfree Cut Bank Penguin

Innisfree is home to the famous Cut Bank Penguin, Ernie, a gift from the Hollywood team behind the movie Cut Bank, filmed in the village and starring Liam Hemsworth, Billy Bob Thornton, and John Malkovich. Visit Ernie, the Cut Bank Sheriff Station, and Steeley’s Garage for a fun photo stop.

Step back in time at the Prairie Bank of Commerce Museum, or join the summer fun with the Innisfree Fishing Derby in July and Innisfree Fair Day in August.

Enjoy year-round amenities, including a public trout fishing pond, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, and playgrounds. For a journey through history, visit the Prairie Bank of Commerce Museum within the village. Innisfree offers a wonderful camping experience at the Innisfree Birch Lake Campground & Recreation Park, located 2 km south of Birch Lake. It is an excellent place to unwind and see colourful summer sunsets. Refuel your vehicle at the spacious rest stop located just off Highway 16 as you enter the village. As you visit, a stunning view of Birch Lake awaits you. Dive into the summer celebrations, from Father’s Day festivities at Innisfree Fish Pond to the vibrant Canada Day Celebrations. And remember to bring the kids to the Innisfree Fair in August.

Find the perfect beach destination at Wapasu Recreation Conservancy Park, offering a delightful mix of leisure activities and water recreation. This County Park aims to preserve and protect the wildlife habitat in and around the Lake. Wapasu Lake is a known migratory stop for white swans and countless wildlife species. Trails leading to the summit offer a panoramic view of the lake and the surrounding region. Visitors can enjoy the playground, beach, day-use facilities, and recreational spaces along the shoreline.
