Go Adventuring Outdoors

Summer East of Edmonton just feel right! Whether you want to get out on the ATV trail, camp, fish, golf, take a hike, or simply enjoy the warm sunshine, our Land Adventures section has ideas so you can plan all your adventures.

Go Camping

What’s the perfect way to spend time outside and enjoy our beautiful landscapes? You know it, Camping! Take your pick from more than 20 sites across the region – there’s a slice of paradise wherever you’re looking to venture. If you want to glamp it up, try a geodesic dome or yurt cabin at Elk Island Retreat!

Go Fishing

With 100 lakes, ponds and rivers, you are sure to experience fantastic fishing in the region. Find your next fishing spot!

P.S. Head out on July 8th and 9th it’s the FREE Alberta Family Fishing Weekend. No fishing license required, however, all fishing regulations apply.

Summer Major Events

There’s a lot of fun to be had this summer. Our Events Calendar is updated weekly and has events everyone will enjoy! It’s your main source for rodeos, fairs, car shows, and other fun family festivities. Kick off your boots at notable favourites, the Wainwright Stampede on June 23-25, and Lamont Rodeo July 8-9, for two weeknds of fun!

Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village: 
Looking for a fun summer day camp? Look no further! Register your children today in their Historical Children’s Program! 

Each select week through July and August will be an awesome week of summer camp! Ages 6-12 welcome! This is their 35th annual year, so they aim to make it better than ever! Your children will learn a glimpse of what life was like in the 1900s for Ukrainian settlers in east central Alberta! Children will learn about Ukrainian culture and engage in Ukrainian activities such as making pyrohy (perogies) and pysanky! Children will explore the Ukrainian Village site, play games, make friends, and create memories that will last a lifetime! Your village adventure awaits! Register today!
