Discover December Wondrous Winter Events & Adventures
There are dozens of events happening in December to get you into the holiday spirit. You can find everything from Christmas Markets, Family Skates, Parade of Lights, and many more in our events calendar.

Geminid Meteor Shower Gazing Event
December 13th and 14th 2023 – 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Join us to observe one of the strongest meteor showers of the year! Away from city lights and within a dark sky preserve, it’s an experience that brings families and friends together, with the occasional ‘there’s one!’ as the icing on the stargazing cake.
Event Program
- Guided meteor shower viewing experience with telescopes and binoculars. Facilitated by volunteers from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.
- Indigenous storytelling and craft stations where you can create keepsakes, all facilitated by the cultural team at Métis Crossing.
- Mobile Planetarium Theater presentation on dark skies and stars, hosted by TELUS World of Science – Edmonton.
- Hot chocolate and marshmallows by the fire.
*Enhance your experience with dinner at the Cultural Gathering Centre Restaurant.

You can even stay at one of their amazing sky-watching domes to fully immerse yourself in beautiful night skies. The domes feature a king bed, running water, bathroom, and even heated concrete floors.
