Attractions

Camrose has plenty of entertaining and enjoyable stops to check out during your visit.

The Camrose Resort Casino is a first-class gaming facility, offering 200 slot machines, 12 gaming tables, and a poker room. They also regularly feature live entertainment, so plan enough time to play the tables before experiencing one of their many tribute shows or dinner theatres.

A popular enjoyment for kids is the  Mirror Lake Express train! At 92 feet in total length, it carries 24 passengers around the vicinity of Mirror Lake. It operates during summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Admission is from 5:30-8:00pm for $3.00 each. Children 2 & under get free rides!

For history buffs, the Camrose Heritage Railway Station & Park gives you a chance to tour the 1911 Canadian Northern Railway Depot and 13 spectacular heritage gardens.

Aviators won’t want to miss Alberta’s Littlest Airport, a model aircraft flying site, complete with RC model aircraft supplies and just a short half-hour drive east of the City of Camrose.

In need of some fresh produce and homemade goods? Stop by one of Camrose’s many weekly farmers’ markets! On Thursday afternoons enjoy the Rose City Farmers’ Market and then on Thursday evenings head to the Downtown Camrose Farmers’ Market for farm-fresh goods and a variety of other tasty treats! If you find yourself in town on the weekend, head to Camrose Saturday Farmers’ Market featuring home-cooked produce, meat, crafts, baking, and food specialties. Open year-round.

July 23 TRAVIS DOLTER DRIVE-IN CONCERT
Come out to Camrose on July 23rd at 8pm for a Drive in Concert. After a successful Drive in Concert just over a year ago, Travis Dolter and his band are excited to come back and perform again. All Proceeds go to the Camrose Food Bank. Tickets are $20 per vehicle with the option of buying a VIP Table of 4 for $100. There are limited tables available so get your tickets today. Travis Dolter plays a variety of music and his show is sure to include something for everyone! If you would like to hear Travis before the show you can stream his music on all streaming platforms.

 Aug 8 – A DAY ON THE TRAIN – BATTLE RIVER RAILWAY EXCURSIONS
Get Out of the City! Travel by passenger train to small town Alberta, where you will dine in a vintage hotel, visit, and hear stories at the historic St. Martin’s Catholic Church, and purchase some of the world’s best sausage at the Heisler General Store. Local entertainment is sure to please. A perfect outing for retirees, families or friends looking for a slice of the country at an easy pace. Great way to shake off the COVID pandemic blues! Aug 14-15 – ALBERTA OPEN FARM DAYS
Hit the road and visit your local farmer for the 9th annual Alberta Open Farm Days.
Alberta Open Farm Days is a collaborative, province-wide, two-day event that gives Albertans an opportunity to experience the farm and understand where their food comes from.

Aug 14 – EXPLORE FARM TO FORK – BATTLE RIVER RAILWAY
On Saturday, August 14, Explore Farm to Fork by Train (Starts at the Kelsey loading site.)
Travel by train to meet your rural neighbours on this unique Open Farm Days event.  Enjoy locally grown snacks & beverages in the open-air gondola car.

 September 18 – OKTOBERSTOCK – A BAVARIAN EXPOSITION – Camrose Regional Exhibition
Hosted by the Camrose Regional Exhibition (CRE), enjoy Oktoberstock, an exciting new one-day fall festival. A truly unique event, it’s a twist on the traditional German Oktoberfest, featuring a day of activities that promote the diversity of the community of Camrose and the region. Local musicians, folk and original performers will entertain gusts, and food will be presented in an affordable format that will facilitate community-wide accessibility. Outdoors

Camrose County is known for its beautiful outdoor space, great for activities the whole family will enjoy.

In the City, there are twenty educational and historic points of interest depicting the development stages of Camrose and are strategically placed along the 3 km walking paths surrounding the beautiful reflective Mirror Lake. The surrounding park presents outstanding natural settings for picnics with the family, cycling, or beautiful leisurely walks.

Offering up many recreational opportunities, Little Beaver Lake is open to kayak and canoe enthusiasts alike. Or, head to Meeting Creek and discover a perfect environment for naturalists, bikers/hikers, artists, photographers, kids and historians. While you’re getting back to nature, make sure to visit the Heritage Railway Station from 1913 and the Heritage Grain Elevator from 1917 (indoor areas by appointment only).

Visitors are welcome to take in the scenic viewpoints at the Pleasure Island Fish Pond, perfect for a family outing. Take a stroll and even bring your pets while you check out the various birding activities at 30 birdhouses along the path.

Discover a hidden gem at Telegraph Park! A tranquil backdrop to Hay Lakes, Telegraph Park boasts superb picnic, playground and camping facilities, as well as an amphitheatre, stocked trout pond and the newest addition: a handmade dog wheel. Hike along winding trails or enjoy fishing for brown and rainbow trout.

Golfing & Camping

Have some time for a game? Camrose and area have plenty of golf courses for amateurs and pros alike.

Established in 1922, the Camrose Golf Course is a City of Camrose owned and operated, 18-hole public course. The course provides all amenities required by both the recreational golfer and the golfer seeking additional challenges to their game.

Stay a day, or stay awhile with your big rig at the Camrose Exhibition Trail RV Park – a full-service campground with modern facilities.

The Silver Creek Golf Course is a beautiful 27-hole course, surrounded by thousands of acres of rolling grain lands that strategically wind around the former farm’s historic barn, now a clubhouse and restaurant. Just a short 15-minute drive from Camrose, this course is complete with a fully-stocked pro shop, power carts, licenced restaurant, and plenty of overnight campsites.

In addition to their 18-hole course and driving range, Whistle Stop Golf and Campground features a fully-licensed restaurant and campground for an extended stay. Located adjacent to Miquelon Lake Provincial Park, Miquelon Hills Golf Course is an 18-hole hidden gem. The course is mature and beautifully lined with trees and has an abundance of hills.
