Mons Lake Campground is located approximately 6.5 km east and 3.2 km north of the Town of Smoky Lake, just over an hour’s drive east of Edmonton. This small, quiet campground features 8 nicely treed and secluded campsites, available on a first-come, first-served basis—ideal for campers looking for a relaxed lakeside experience. Visitors can enjoy a day-use area with swimming docks, a sandy, clear-water beach, and two playground areas, making it a great spot for families. The lake is also known for excellent Perch and Northern Pike fishing, with a public boat launch conveniently located at the day-use area. There are showers located at the Smoky Lake Carwash/Laundromat and dumping stations located at the Smoky Lake Centex Gas station, as well as behind the Smoky Lake Recreation Complex.What’s Unique?
The Lake has a vibrant community association that organizes a variety of summer events. These include exciting horseshoe tournaments, delightful pancake breakfasts, enjoyable potluck suppers, and a fantastic community pig roast. With the addition of the July fireworks, the weekends are always filled with fun and social activities.Open from May 1 to October 31, the cost is $25 per night on a first-come, first-served basis.
