In rolling hills between the Parklands and the Prairies, ten kilometres west of the Saskatchewan border on Highway 610, Chauvin is oil and gas, ranching, and grain country. Come out for the Elks Soap Box Derby, visit Chauvin Greenhouses, experience 114 years of history at the Chauvin Museum, and take a self-guided tour of historical homes and landmarks. Repsol Community Centre hosts individual and family skating, hockey lessons and team games, skating and figure skating lessons, plus a three sheet curling rink, and offers a large arena and commercial kitchen available for rental/events. Chauvin's full-service King's RV Park is close by to a Heritage Rangeland Natural Area and Alberta's Salt Lake. A picture with roadside attraction Suzy, the World's Largest Softball is a must.

EVENTS

Chauvin is full of exciting activities throughout the year. In May, families can enjoy the Mother’s Day Market & High Tea, featuring handcrafted treasures by local crafters and merchants. June brings excitement with the thrilling Soap Box Derby and the lively June Jamboree. The 4H Show and Sale showcases the area’s prize animals, and Chauvin’s professional chuckwagon teams, led by Kris Molle (WPCA) and Brad McMann (CPCA), appear at events throughout the season. October invites spooky fun at the Escape from Alcatraz Haunted House, and November offers the cozy atmosphere of the Elks Fall Supper & Dance. The year concludes with a festive December, where the Christmas Market features sleigh rides, cookie decorating, holiday shopping, the Parade of Lights, fireworks, visits with Santa, and a Christmas Family Skate at the Fire Hall.

AT THE MUSEUM

Housed in the charming former St. Aubins Catholic School, the Chauvin Museum displays an impressive collection of approximately 3,500 items, each with its own story. July brings the community together for the Annual Old-fashioned Picnic on the museum grounds, while August features the Antique Vehicle Show & Shine, showcasing vintage tractors, trucks, cars, and motorcycles. Visitors can also enjoy the Quilt and Craft Show with ongoing exhibits and captivating readings by local authors throughout the summer. The museum is open daily from Victoria Day to Labour Day, with hours available in the Museum section.

OUTDOORS

For those who love exploring the outdoors, Chauvin offers a variety of recreational opportunities. Stay at King’s Park RV Park & Campground, which provides serviced sites, playgrounds, fire pits, showers, and clean facilities. Nearby, Dillberry Lake Provincial Park invites visitors to swim, boat, camp, and fish. Nature enthusiasts can explore the Killarney-Reflex Lakes Heritage Rangeland, home to over 80 bird species, or unwind at Salt Lake, a natural spring-fed salt lake known for its healing waters. In town, the Repsol Community Centre features an arena, curling rink, and hall, while families can enjoy the skate park, the local campground, and the greenhouse with U-pick produce during the summer months.
