History buffs will enjoy the Basilian Fathers Museum, a world-class facility with an intriguing collection of artifacts showcasing Ukrainian culture and religious heritage. For those looking for physical activities, there is a hockey arena, a curling rink, and a bowling alley in town.
A stop in Mundare is not complete without seeing the 42 ft high (6 ton) sausage replica known as the World’s Largest Sausage built by the Stawnichy family in 2001.
The community has invested in a revitalized main street, which often hosts parties throughout the year including the Canada Day Street Party. You can also enjoy Agri-Days in August, and take in the December Christmas Extravaganza and frosty parade.
Outdoors
There are plenty of outdoor activities to keep the whole family busy including a skateboard and spray park, and the 18-hole Whitetail Crossing Golf Course. Residential lots are for sale around the golf course and around town; check out the listings with a local realtor. Ukraina Park is also a great place to take in the sunshine. The park has three baseball diamonds, a playground, and sites for camping.

Mainstreet is the place to be! As you’ve been looking in awe of the World’s Largest Sausage, you’ll want to stock up your cooler with the real deal at Stawnichy’s Sausage, and get some Ukrainian baking while there too! Then head on over to Quality Pizza & Sub for a tasty meal, be sure to leave room for some of their yummy ice cream.
